I don't care what platform I get, I don't mind being isolated and I don't mind working hard. I just want to make it!
I have been given the option to choose between Vance and Corpus. Honestly, I wish they would just pick for me 'cuz everything I hear is contradictory. Does anyone have true, honest unbiased and extremely recent facts that would help me make up my mind???

btw my aviation background is IFS - 24.5hours -

I am at Moody. AF training is far more regimented than anything I saw on the Navy side outside of OCS. Also, the culture is, um, different.

Fly Navy. (No I don't have any information about Vance, but did you join the Air Force?)

don't do it! AF trains stupid. If all you have is IFS, go to Corpus. If you go to Vance you just might as well shoot yourself in the face!

what is the deal with this AF decision anyway. Can anyone clear this up for me? If he's navy why does he have and option to train w/ AF. And why would the route be worse? I thought the AF was more laid back anyway, no?

Air Force training squadrons are the polar opposite of their line squadrons. They are super anal and highly regimented. You are in a class together with fellow potential aviators. You know your winging date before you even start flying. You show up at 0400 and stay until 1600 whether you are flying or not. Instructors treat students like third class citizens. They force you to study and learn their set of rules that includes several different publications for the AF, AETC, Base, Wing, and Squadron, not to mention the dash one (NATOPS) for the airplane.
If you have trouble studying on your own and don't like the beach, girls, or deciding what to do with your own free time (not to mention Enid is a dump), Vance is awesome. If you don't want some dickhead telling you when and how to live for 12 hours a day, don't prefer the "beauty" of the Oklahoma praries to the beaches, and don't want to spend your weekends at the ONLY club in Enid (which happens to be a country dance club where they line dance to rap songs) (all hail Scooter's), go to Corpus. If you want to be a Naval Aviator, get as much Navy training as possible. Trust me, I have seen both sides, and I much preferred the Navy way.

As for CORPSviation's question, correct me if I am dating myself, but when you show up to API, they look for volunteers to go to Vance and Moody. After they don't get enough people, they select "volunteers" to go there. A few Navy students train with the AF, and vice versa (VT-3 at Whiting).

Line dance to rap songs? OK, I don't think I'm ever going to complain about the Pensacola nightlife again......

Something about how we fight with them in war, so we should train with them in peace, so we send a few of our SNA's to them, and we train a few of their students here at Whiting. A bunch of service cooperation stuff.

I was watching a Thunderbirds special on TV and they sounded as anal as primary. It makes me very happy that I joined the Navy!
