Navy H-46 crews in CENTCOM during DS were all flying 8+hours/day, everyday. The CVBG AOE and AE ships simply could not supply CVs fast enough with *ordnance*. Most carrier magazines were near empty by the first week after 17 JAN 91. "Just in time" was the order of the day. With these kind of reps and benign wx conditions, you got pretty good. The design really shined.

But by February and March there were a number of high profile near misses. Waivers were liberally doled out in the name of operational expediency. Crazy times.
