Heavy Lift Helicopters of Apple Valley, California has started marketing a commercial version of the CH-53D Sea Stallion. They are purchasing aircraft at auction from AMARC, restoring them to flyable condition, and then using these machines for heavy lift and contract fire fighting support - apparently very successful.

A complete slide show of a restoration and buildup of one of their first birds in on their web site - pretty cool.

My heartbeat is in overdrive....flying the '53 for a living as a civilian, somebody pinch me!!
Then again, they probably want something like 10,000hrs in model and 9,000 PIC...oh well....more jobs for retired O-5 and O-6's.
