And as for saying it worked, he might have a mistaken impression that just because nothing happened that what he did prevented something. And I am sorry, what do you call a person who beats up and threatens the life of an unarmed man? A stud? Either way, his judgement is fucked up and I don't think he belongs in the military or elected office.

I have seen nothing to say that he did or didn't save lives other than his own claim. I would love to see more about it.
