Hey Dhafeman,
I just found out this morning I have an 18 OCT 2003 OCS date. I guess will be going through together. Where do you live? I live in Jacksonville, FL.

I have finally received word since applying in Sept.

My recruiter said that I was professionally recommended for NFO. He said that 'they' are just waiting for Millington to give me a date. So till then I am still keeping my fingers crossed.

aoconnor--Congratulations! That's terrific news. You must be incredibly relieved after waiting so long! Man, you're my hero. I've been waiting 6 weeks, and I'm already going crazy. I can't imagine waiting 4 months! Anyway, if you don't mind my asking, what were your stats? Was NFO your first choice?

Congrats again!!

Well the cat is not in the bag. However, for what its worth, I only put down NFO. I am 28, GPA: 3.5 (was 3.8, will go back up), major Peace, War, and Defense. OAR-44, the rest I forgot, I think were 5's, maybe some 4's. PRT- 60 Pushups, 70 situps, and 10:55 on the run.

As soon as I get officially selected I will post more detail on my process because it was a lengthly one. Till then lets all cross our fingers and hope to see each other in the fleet.

Everyone,

There is a forum where you can post your stats. This shows where you rank with others that are (or will be) at OCS with you. It's called Stats and Scores, I think. There are some pretty competitive people out there, so be smart and study hard.

Good luck everyone.

Maybe not, but as I understand it, with a prof. recommendation, it's pretty much a done deal unless you've got medical issues.

Good luck to you!

It's been some time since I posted here. I submitted my package in late November. I got an email from my recruiter today. He is going to his main office on Monday and he said that he will personally find out where my package is and what's going on with it. So I should know a little more by Friday.

Mike26,
I was a Utilities specialist(Plumber) in C.E. I got out in sep 1999. What is your job in the AF? Where are you stationed now?

Jared,
I'm a boom operator at Fairchild, but right now I am in PSAB for another month unless the war starts, who knows when I'll be home then but at least I know it will be before Oct. :) Where were you stationed at? Why did you decide to go Navy instead of AF.

Hey Mike,
I was stationed at Tyndall, and kirtland AFB. I did try to apply for the Air Force, but the recruiter was very negative. He made me feel like I was wasting his time, and also told me that if i did noy have lots of flight time i would get rejected. It pissed me off, but i think The NAVY will be a blast. They also have a wider variety of aircraft to choose from.

I did not apply for the AF, I started putting a package together at the same time I applied to the Navy but the process for OCS is so much faster, I found out I was accepted for the Navy before I finished my AF package and decided to stay with the Navy. I have heard many stories like yours about people applying for the AF, people who seem like great candadits getting turned down, so was also a major reson I did not apply.
