Has anyone ever ordered your training command records?

How do you go about it? I had a skipper in intermediate say he did it. I've never really thought about it until now, but it might be a good keepsake, or something to hide if I ever run for president.

I vote for not ordering the records....the logbook has everything you would ever want to remember.

You mean in 5 years or so you'll never have the urge to look back and laugh at the sim instructors' comments on your gradesheets? I can think of a few gems right now . . . :icon_tong

Here are some from my Mini-ATJ:

Course Rules: Monkey With Football
High Work: Speed Clean Check FVCK is NOT the proper mnemonic for HAPL
SA: He at least is aware that he sucks.
Departure: That is for leaving the field, not controlled flight numbnuts.
Instrument Scan: They are there. You really SHOULD scan them.
Landing: As a note, the T-34C does not hover. Do not try to hover it. It is NOT an AgCat.

And some jewels from the HTs:
Hover: You should at least attempt to feign struggling.
Autorotation: Please inform the IP that you intend to do a full auto. Especially a 0/0 auto.
Box Patterns: Slow down. You should not need 10* nose down to keep the centripetal force from spitting you out of the pattern.
Low Level: Mongo should not be flying below treetops. That is bad.

Ordering your ATJ is not hard, but takes a while for CNATRA to send you copies, especially if you are from the pen and paper days of ATJ's. Surprising that some of the same mean old sim instructors way back then are still mean old sim instructors now. It gives a nice sense of continuity...

Unless CNATRA loses your records, only for them to be found at BUPERS 7 months later.

I still have no clue why they were at BUPERS.

Maybe I'm missing something, but all I get when I go there is a Training and Experience history sheet that simply lists what I've done (EW School, SERE, API, etc) and a generic explanation for each.... nothing in there resembling an actual training record.

It's not the same thing as your training record, but a good resource to know of anyway.

When I was investigating a midair, I attempted to get CNATRA to send the training command records for the CAT-1 RP that was killed. As you know, you have a month to investigate and get the SIR out. It took 2 weeks to get the right civilian on the phone that even knew where they would get the record. He promised me the record would be copied and overnighted the next day.

3 months later, it showed up on my desk. Not only did they blatantly lie to me about getting it out in a hurry, when they finally did mail it out, it went out in the slowest method possible (not overnight or even 1st class mail).

This probably has nothing to do with anything you guys were talking about, but if you do decide to try to order it, good luck. Even when I had the weight of a Class A mishap behind my request, I couldn't budge GS-? to do his job.
