My only reply to this is - Please, join the Marine Corps and bring the attitude with you. We have ways of correcting your obvious discrepancies. If not, you'll simply be a civilian again, with the knowledge that you can't hack it. Either way, we win.

Also - since you seem to think that your grammar and punctuation is "fine", here's my revision to your original quote:

I just think it's (the contraction of it is, vice is) stupid that someone would criticize my punctuation and grammar in general, let alone on an internet forum. It just seems like he enjoys putting his two cents in and when he can't find a way to sound like an asshole then he really has to go out on a limb with something.

I wouldn't say that my spelling, (a comma is usually placed here) grammar and punctuation all suck. Definitely (not Definetly) above ("a" or "the" would be appropriate here) 4th grade level. I think you're getting stuck on the fact that I say y'all (assuming a contraction of you all, so not ya'll). My posts are not at all like your little example comment. I'm wondering why some think the questions I have are so odd. I'm here to get a general understanding of Marine Corps aviation and I think all my questions point towards that. I don't understand why everyone's replies always have to be so hostile. I'm not trying to pick a fight and don't take anything I say the wrong way but it's like people try to sound like assholes or something.

I (pronoun "I" is capitalized) guess the question might have (might've is not a contraction) sounded odd. I was just trying to get at the brotherhood that the military provides you. It is a fraternity's fraternity, as I have heard it put before, especially the Marine Corps. I don't know (not dunno) where I got the idea that pilots roomed alone, probably heard something somewhere and drew my own (wrong) conclusion. I was just wondering what the interactions were like with pilots and other members. all of my family members are enlisted Marine Corps so I always hear story after story of the things they did with their buddies and what not. Appreciate y'alls input as most posts of mine are met with sarcastic and disappointing replies. (punctuation is required)

Is it conceivable that being a terd on this site could in fact actually reduce your chance of getting jets? I may be on to something. Maybe, since we get so many percent questions in which we do not know the actual percentage due to its changing so often, we could show people what would probably reduce whatever percentage it is for whatever they want to know about.

I did a search on this but most of the stuff I found was pretty dated. I know no one really knows for sure, but when will the upgrades start to be put into place. Will newly winged Lt's be assigned to them first? I know the dates have been pushed back a bit over the years, and I was just wondering how they were going to do the upgrade process. Any of your info would be appreciated.

Impossible to know man. Great example the Osprey, I believe that was on the drawing board in the early 80s. The Zulus are new airframes, not upgraded Whiskeys.

Really? I always thought it was just an extensive upgrade to the whiskeys. I learn something new everyday. So I'm assuming it will be phased in slowly, correct? They'll still have the zulus flying for a long time I mean, right?

The Zulus will be new build vice the original plan of rebuild becasue we really cant take the Whiskeys off the line right now. With the plan to go to 9 maybe 10 HMLAs there will probably be Whiskey and Zulus in service at the same time.
The decision to focus on Yankees over Zulus was made a while back, there are some Yankees at Pendelton to start the conversion, dont know on the Zulus.
Without getting into all the why all I want is a new FLIR on the Whiskey and they can keep the Zulu.

I dont know but I would guess you will select Cobras out of flight school and they will decide W vs Z at the RAG based on "needs of the Corps".

Actually, LTGEN Trautman and company have it pretty well in hand and if you read the document in this thread, you'll see when the H-1 Upgrades come on line. great document to get the plan as to what is likely to transpire and it's right from the top.

Now think about that for a minute. A brand new aircraft given to brand new aviators first? That might be your dream, but newly winged LTs do not necessarily get them first. In fact, just the opposite as the FRS and first squadron will be "stocked" with experienced aviators before FNGs get their hands on them. New aircraft are introduced squadron by squadron (take a look at Osprey transition) so only those newly minted aviators who arrive as relacements in those squadrons as part of normal rotation will have a decent shot at flying them.
