Gun Show Weirdness

Well, I'm on the hunt for a 54H60-77 if anyone knows where I can find one. Props if you know what that is. (There's a hint in there).

The whole thing or just a blade? You must have a heck of a big wall space if you want one complete!

Generally agree on gun shows. I usually have enough on-line sources but I'm a handloader than can mean some very good deals on partial boxes of bullets at a show. If you have something new you're loading for it can be a great deal to get a couple dozen of a bullet during load development to find the couple that your new rifle likes. More often than not though I walk away empty handed to the couple I go to a year.

That's the thing, though. You, a lot of other people, and I are willing to walk through and not buy anything, based on research, experience, and resistance to the Instant Gratification Field (which is only just an out-of-phase Stupid Field). A lot of other people, though...not so much.

Latest gun show here (Cherry Point) had a reasonable selection of firearms, with most being well over 20-25% what you would normally expect to pay today at a store. There were some vendors selling ammunition, but none of the deals of yesteryear. I walked away with only a box of TAP for my M1A (wanted to try it before I bought more than one box) and a replacement for a knife that one of those limey bastards destroyed in Afghanistan last year. Nothing else was worth the time, effort or money to acquire.

We determined it wasn't a 45 nor A-6/EA-6 or E/C-2 hook point..

A4s were 1 peice and T-2 hook points were different. I was down to a 14 or 18 when I was guessing, although I am not familiar enough with A-7s to know if it was one of them.

Looks a lot like a Tomcat hookpoint, but hard to tell with no reference. You can't find a part number on it?

Just a blade. The whole thing would be awesome, but I don't think my wallet can handle the damage. That and it'd probably weigh more than any wall could handle.

Combating TIP training AGAIN?!
For 20 bucks you could do anything you wanted with it and still get your money's worth.

Motoart.com

Charles Lindbergh's grandson takes a semi to the boneyard 2 or 3 times a year, fills up, and turns it all into "functional art furniture".

He had individual P-3 props (among others) in the last catalog, that came out maybe a month ago.

It's gonna be more than $20, though.

EDIT: Yes, there are some P-3 props in stock, all 7'3" of them. "Ask for pricing." Ouch.

Kingeryc,

While on cruise this summer I made friends with a few Hornet guys and one of them ended up giving me a hookpoint from his -18C. It looks very similar to yours however, the inscription is very different. Not sure if that means anything but might help in the search.

Went to a gunshow this weekend ... there was NOTHING buy overpriced ammo (you can do much better online or at the very least, at Wal-Mart) .... and overpriced firearms JUNK ...

I think the "bubba's" are tryin' to take advantage of the post-election Obama panic ...

Not so at the local WalMarts here. MARWIFE runs the pharmacy at one, so I try to buy range ammo there with my 10% discount card. No such luck lately, though. They do have (1) box of .40SW, and (2) boxes of .30-30, but that's about it. The local gun stores are even more hard up for ammo than WalMart. Good thing that I'm in good with the folks down at the Lejeune PX, because they'll special order anything, to include bulk ammo. Otherwise, I wouldn't have anything to take to the range but my .22s (including a couple conversion kits) and .17HMR rifle.
