You like SOB? I'm not comfortable with that. I'd fear falling on the pistol and hurting myself.
Worked fine for me ... its all personal preference. Do you fall on your back a lot or something?

No, but think about it. You can trip, you can get knocked over, you could get into a scuffle and get pushed. I'm not too keen on falling on hard objects directly on the base of my spine.

Understandable. It would hurt like a ***** to land on that thing. I was just messin with ya on the whole falling a lot thing. How do you carry yours? I just found it hard to carry such a large pistol without having a jacket or something on ... its getting to be winter time so its a little easier, but in the summer I could use the SOB with just some jeans and a t shirt and have no problem concealing it.

I've wanted a 1911 for as long as I have been shooting. Mostly just for sport and to own one. I'm not sure about carrying it, I always have a compact 9mm I conceal. The full size 1911 just seems a little to big clumsy pack concealed. My concern is being comfortable while having it on. My springfield XD is so tiny its like its not even there in the SoB I have.

Nah, I know you were messing with me. It's cool :)

Well, I just got a new Comp-Tac CTAC Holster and it's pretty cool. Got it for my Glock 23. It conceals very well even with shorts and a t-shirt... problem is though when I bend over. I print BADLY. You can blatantly see the grip of the Glock. I haven't worn it out in town at all because of that. With a jacket it's zero problem.

Oh yeah, and it's an IWB holster, seems to work best around 4:30 on my right side.

The mil-spec is what I have. Shot a crap load of rounds through it over the past year. I love it. Its a large pistol to carry, but I doubt thats why you are buying it being that you wanted a full size. I have carried it and with a nice small-of-the-back holster it conceals nicely. You will be pleased ... happy shooting. Ask any questions you may have about it

I prefer the SOB holster to any other...seems to be easier to conceal and is more comfortable. I tried IWB and it never felt right. Fanny pack is ok too.

I have 3 ways to carry, though I dont get to use one of them anymore.

With my P7 I use an IWB at 8 o'clock and a Galco spare mag carrier on my 4. It works well since the weapon is so thin and I can carry it without much more then a T-shirt and get away with it fine. Since I usually wear pants with a heavy belt and a button up shirt thrown over it, I have no worries unless its really windy.

I can carry my USP, but I really dont anymore. I used to keep it in a Galco leather double retention OWB right at my 9 o'clock that was canted 25 degrees forward and keep the shield right in front of it. Usually I didnt do this unless it was winter since I really dont like open carry, it makes you an easily identified "Lets kill him first" target. It was more that if for some reason I flashed my gun, people saw the badge too so it wasnt an "Oh my god call the police" moment. Since I dont have the shield or anything anymore, unless Im wearing my leather coat or something I dont want to risk causing a rucus. People are still kinda getting used to CCW in Ohio, even though its been over a year. I used to have a shoulder rig for it, but I never used it and sold it. Too bad too, the girlfriend thought it looked sexy.

Third, and probably my most favorite way to carry. If Im going into the woods muchroom hunting (appalacian pasttime) or such I take the Model 19. And I wear it in a drop leg cowboy style leather holster. Puts the but of the gun right where my hand hangs. It doesnt have bullets around the whole thing or anything, but it do Keep a pair of speedloaders on it, just in case. Now a lot in Ohio or anywhere else I go that a .357 wont deal with pretty well. Still, I wouldnt mind getting a .44 and keeping the family heirloom at home.
