Oddly timed and geographically suspect. Continue posturing for cheeto jesus.
The amount of Trump turd-polishing is amazing to behold and couched as "it's just a negotiating tactic...Art of The Deal!!". Meanwhile whatever soft power equity we have built over decades has been double-flushed down the drain. I don't need lectures on how Army units are currently arrayed in Eastern Europe to see what is happening. It would be nice to see him shit-post against Putin maybe once? but alas, it's a constant screed of this shit..

Art of the Deal!

Rotational deployments to maintain a forward presence that’s been in existence since 1949…. is now a cause for concern of Army unit force generation. Probably the first time a deployment to Europe has been a case for low morale and reenlistments. 😂 Can’t make this shit up.

I was thinking the same thing… deployment to Europe would have been a dream- I couldn’t get away from the effing sandbox the entire time I was on active duty.

Now we’re shitting all over Europe because that’s how stupid we are. At least markets are finally starting to respond to all this Greenland nonsense. I was wondering if anything could evoke more than a “meh” from the market in 2026.

You’ll pick a random source calling 11th Airborne a crack unit (which is absurd) and ignore the parts about Minneapolis but can’t find the years of papers explaining how not sustainable Atlantic Resolve is.

We have the smallest active Army since WWII, maintaining a presence in countries without the infrastructure of the Cold War or even the early 2000s to support it. Some of you should try a deployment in Thessaloniki or Lielvārde with the Army particularly when Kolasheski was in charge. “At least it’s not Buehring” will only get you so far. We have the same sustainment/morale/readiness problems there that we had with the rotational units in Korea, and due to the nature of the Division fight and regional alignments we are creating a haves/have nots within the wider Army of people hiding out while others can’t get off the rowboat.

Here’s an article from the way back saying all this in 2017, this isn’t new. https://www.stripes.com/news/2017-0...would-be-cheaper-than-rotations-1533754.html1

Exactly the point. Take a step back and think about getting either of those as PTDO. Kinda fucking stupid right?

You’re talking to members of two services that have been doing this exact thing in the Pacific for 40 years. We’re hitting our retention and recruiting goals every year. Imagine how bad morale could get when one squadron gets stuck on the boat rotations and the others are logging colored ink in OIF/OEF/OIR.

Perhaps providing a deterrent from keeping countries with nuclear weapons from fighting each is in our best interest.

Growing up, I had a friend who had a PlayStation. The original. He would let our friend group play games with him anytime we liked. We loved to play Twisted Metal and Destruction Derby, and we all had our own custom built cars on Gran Turismo. He even let me borrow it over a weekend to try to convince my parents to buy me one. (It didn't work. We were a Nintendo family).

He did the same for another guy in our friend group. Except this friend didn't give it back- and when he was made to, he damaged the cd reader lens and made it so that no one could play it.

The Interesting thing is that we all still remained friends without the PlayStation. Except for the asshole kid who broke it. We hated him.

Eventually another PlayStation was procured and we played the games we liked to play, but without the asshole. He was never in the group again.
