I've seen lots on the boards about enlisteds gunning for OCS slots... my question is a little bit different.
I'm thinking about enlisting in the Naval Reserve, both to do my patriotic duty and also to get GI Bill funds for graduate school. But my understanding is that USNR ratings are very limited for folks with no prior service and limited work experience. Yeah, I'll ask the recruiters all the same questions, but I'd like to hear from those who know. What sorts of opportunities/experiences have other people had out there with reserve enlistments?
I'd especially like to hear from intel specialists about the possibility of starting in that rating or a similar field. Or anybody from (cringe!) other reserve services who might be able to sell me (shyah!) on those routes/mos's.
