Golf Anybody? (P-Cola)

Mr. Blonde

My ass is a motherfuckin' champion
pilot
Going to play on base in about an hour and a half, looking for some playing partners, anybody interested? PM me and I'll send you my number.

As a side note, not many of my friends play so it'd be nice to get a group of AW's together we can call if we're looking for people to play with on a regular basis.

I'd like to play on mainside sometime. Only played up here at whiting, but alas... I am going to the "boat" tomorrow and then FORMs on wed so that's not going to happen today. Rain check?

I'm on board for any time after Thursday, and I prefer weekday play.

Otto, you also have to try Tanglewood btwn Whiting and Milton. It's the same price as NASWF, but better.

Anyone here suck at golf? I ask because I inherited my mother's clubs (complete with 80s-tastic bag and all) and I really would like to get into it, but I've never taken lessons and the times I've been on a course I'm pretty ridiculous (as in doubling par on almost every hole because I don't know what I'm doing). I feel bad when I go with people who know what they're doing since I slow everything down.

I'm a high teens handicap on a really good day. I've never shot under a hundred, but I'm only in my first year. What I've noticed is that a lot of people like to act like they're good golfers by their clubs and the way they dress, but they're usually all hat and no cattle. When you walk up to the guy who isn't dressed right and has wooden clubs and ask if he's good and tells you that his normal game is +1, that's the real deal, and there arent many out there.

The game is all about forward progress, relaxing, and not harshing the mellow of the group behind you. Balance all of those and you're golden.

On average I'm about a bogey golfer, good days I can get down in the mid-80's depending on the course and what tees I'm using, but I'm just getting my game back after not playing for months because of OCS killed it.

I'll PM you guys my number and anytime you want to play just give me a call, I'm usually a weekday guy myself but I'll play whenever/wherever.

I'm just plain handicapped. Ever see a dude hacking away at some Azaleas with a 9 iron? Guilty....

So you are saying you could be considered the "Cinderella Man?"

Ever seen a guy snap his 7 iron over his knee..............at the driving range???

Guilty...

Tee time tomorrow at 11:15

Hey guys, my dad's in town, going to play AC Reed tomorrow. Need two to fill out a foursome. We'll just be hacking around so anyone is welcome if you want to come play. pm me if you want to come out :icon_mi_1

I'd love to join any of ya'll, as I'm a once avid golfer who unfortunately has not been too avid since the end of the fall. Unfortunately I also have this little six month "stint" called TBS to head to before I make it down to Pensacola. I drove by A.C. Read about a week ago and it looked to be in alright shape. How's Whiting's course compare to P'Cola's? I start TBS in about a month so if any of ya'll are still around the Pensacola/Milton area in about eight or so months I'd love to hit the links. Also if anybody in Quantico wants to hit the links in about 1-2 months or so, let me know.

P.S. For those guys who don't consider themselves to be "good," most "good" players I know, including myself, don't mind playing with high handicappers. Golf is all about the company, the atmosphere, the cigars, and the booze.
