Not sure if this belongs in this particular part of the forum, but I was wondering if anyone is planning on going to the Navy ball at NASP.

Our CO strongly hinted to us that we needed to go, and I kind of enjoy the Navy Ball anyway, so I'll probably be there.

Uniform is DDW. I've got DDB...just need a new white jacket to have both sets.

Trunk Monkey...you in 4 or 10? I haven't heard that from my CO, but I haven't been to FOD walk in ages.

Is the uniform SDBs? Or do we have to buy those dinner dress white jackets?

The bottom is an O-4 and above uniform. The top is just SDBs. Contact your command representative for the Navy Ball.

DDW is optional for O-3 and below. You can wear it if you have it and it is appropriate for the event.

Very true. Still only required for O-4 and above. Hence, contact your command representative for Navy Ball info. Too much bad gouge on this site.

VT-10. And no, I wasn't saying that anyone had to go. It was just recommended to us... I doubt most people there will be sober enough/interested enough to take a detailed inventory of who's around anyway.

Well, I'll be going...I think. I've got this certain young lady who goes ape for dress-up affairs, so it sounds like a go. I'll just have to get some new 'frams and a DDW jacket and update my mini medals. Damn...and I just had my regular medals mounted. This is gonna cost me a bloody fortune, isn't it? Crap.

Dont be that guy, you will be laughed at if it anyhting like the Marine side. If you arent an Admirals aid dont get it until O-4. We had an SPC who had Mess dress as a frocked Captain and even the boot Lts knew it was dumb.

You're not an O-4, right? So uh, why get the DDW jacket?

Have one from when I was a mid... wore it thrice, and its been sitting in my closet since. Don't plan on wearing it unless i 100% have to.

Since I've had the DDW jacket, I've been to events where it was appropriate to wear, but opted for SDB's instead... and Mids and JO's that were there in DDW were made fun of.
