Digital is KEY. While it is helpful to turn a 2 hour open book natops exam into a 30 minute command-F (control F for PC guys) game of cat-and-mouse, it is priceless for searching a whole FILE of pubs for a certain key phrase or word you're looking for amplifying information on when you have absolutely no idea where to look.

I use an Excel spreadsheet I created. Each aircraft type is a different sheet. I have three "Totals" sheets/pages for 6 month, 1 year and grand totals. The "totals" pages total by category and type. I have roll ups for NVG, instrument, unaided night, etc..

Regarding the original post, I have all of my documents on digits. AKO, the PMs website, and a host of other sites provide access to the most recent versions. My well used documents are on a thumb drive and backed up to an external hard drive. They include maintenance -10 (Army's NATOPS manual), TMs for the 60 A/L/M, AQC and MTP course material, airworthiness releases, supply manuals, etc... Beside the convenience of having hundreds of documents available, the search capability of an electronic document is irreplaceable.

Some of the very well used documents are downloaded to my Windows Mobile phone, as is my Excel spreadsheet log book.

In addition to having all your pubs electronically, it pays to have an external hard drive handy. For about $100 you can get a 500gb drive. i keep every pub and document I can ever need on mine and they are available wheneve I need them.

You'll need a 500G drive for the multiple copies of every document that come into existence as you put up with Guardian Edge's bullshit.

So no one has any comments on Logbook Pro? Ease of data entry? UI?
Totally missed your first couple of posts about it. Logbook Pro is great, and incredibly powerful for data analysis/reports, etc... Ease of entry is like entering into an excel spreadsheet, but the UI leaves much to be desired. It feels like MS Access or a Windows 98 program. Once you mess with it enough, you realize everything you can do - and it's well worth it. I've got the iPhone app, but haven't messed with it much so can't comment on that.

For those who asked for another Mac product, there is also LogTen Pro. It has a Mac program along with iPhone and iPad apps.

Thanks, Phrog. That was my assessment from watching the videos.

NVP:

Any review or thoughts on the product you mentioned? I'm Googling now, but wasn't sure if you had any first-hand experience.

To be totally honest I haven't used it in a few years so any review isn't really valid towards their current product. I just wanted to throw another option out there.
