Getting SNA without a technical degree?

I was wondering how many people out there got a pilot slot without a technical degree. Im an accounting degree and was wondering if this is going to put a real chink in my application. I heard technical degrees were the only ones getting BDCP, but is it the same for just straight OCS?

The best pilot I knew was a Phys Ed major from Indiana University - he went to AOCS then SNA then F/A-18's - he now flies for United.

No you need no sort of technical degree - get into an officer ascesion program , get commissioned , and the rest will follow.
 
BGS - General Studies. 13 full semesters + 2 summers. Don't even ask about the GPA. Classing up here in Meridian in a week.
 
BA in Economics while buying a red TR4 and discovering wine, women, and song while in school. What's a GPA ??? Got an MBA much later to prove to myself I had the requisite "grey matter". Plus I really liked the look of the diploma.

Flew lots of stuff in the Nav and lots of stuff while workin' for the Man..... watch out for "I heard" type of gouge .... a technical degree will not make the difference. Study what interests you and try to do well ....
 
I flew Prowlers without so much as a high school diploma - seriously! They don't call me GED for nothing!

One of Brett's Department Head's had a double major in French and Women's Studies, from Berkeley no less! He was a pretty decent guy and was a good instructor when I was in the RAG. It was common practice to mock and make fun of the Engineering majors in my squadrons when they tried to show off how much they knew about how the plane worked.

I have a BA in history by the way.
 
Is it still common for people to get picked up with non-tech's these days?? Or is this one of those questions that no one can answer?

I though I was assed up in college, but it looks like a 2.7 BA in history is par for the course.

I think the 'are non techs still getting in' will be tough for 99% of people on this site to answer. I'll reiterate what has been said before on the subject though. You can put together a solid application without a technical degree. If you really need the inside scoop, try a magic 8 ball. Probably the most accurate source of info on the subject I can think of. No speculation, just answers.

Bottom line-don't let having a non-technical degree deter you from applying.
 
I had a 3.4 in electrical engineering and I can say that it in no way helped or hurt my chances at becoming a pilot or my success thereafter.
