I'm taking my Navy Phsyical on Thursday. Two years ago my left eye was 20/60, and chances are, it will have gotten worse in two years. So my question is, when I go to the physical (it's a flight-pilot physical), what is going to happen when I get to my eye exam? Will I fail the physical? Will I be able to opt in for PRK surgery? How do I get a waiver, and what exactly is it good for? I'm applying for Marine PLC for next summer. I just took my ASTB, did fine on it, still have to take my PFT, if any of this info helps.
For you guys and gals who've had PRK, what was your eyesight before? I think I'd be a good candidate, but I'm not sure if 20/60 is bad enough to get surgery. I've looked online for information, but they've all ultimately said consult an eye care specialist, so instead of doing that, I figured I would ask some people who've had it. :icon_smil
