I've been doing a little research on car insurance since I hope to eventually end up in San Diego and I know how expensive it is out there. They said they are the preferred carrier for the Military and Government. Their rates were $100 cheaper per 6 months in San Diego than the others (for me anyway) but here's what surprised me. When you are deployed, they refund you up to 70% of what you paid in car insurance while deployed. In other words, if you are set up with an auto draft and you are on the boat for 6 months at $150 per month (= $900), then up to 70% ($630) is credited back to your account. This may be well known but I was surprised by it and the other carriers did not offer this. Keep it in mind.
