FY17 STA-21 Applicants

Well I'll go through what part of season I can...I have the next 3 weeks off after finals next week. So I know where I'll be...I definitely will get paid. They can tell from your PSR that you are in STA-21. My UIC and duty station are both tied to the program. Another one of my friends from STA-21 just got selected for Chief as well. It's a points game. They have to be fair and just in selecting the most qualified individuals. I never figured I'd get the nod. It's all too humbling for me to realize right now.

Definitely go through as much of the induction process as you can. I knew someone in your shoes (picked up CPO during STA-21) that didn't go through any of the reindeer games, and that individual regretted it, because when he got to his first command, word got around and he didn't have the legitimacy as a prior CPO in the eyes of the goat locker.

Have you taken calculus and or physics? I would work on those courses first!

Yes, thankfully I am done with those. Finished Calc I,II, and III, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Physics I, II, and III, Circuits I, Fundamentals of Electromagnets...all the fun courses. I am working on 300 and 400 level EE classes now.

I am. They are one of only two fully ABET accredited Electrical Engineering programs offered 100% online. They have an amazing online program there. Same professors they use on campus so hopefully it wouldn't be a problem to enroll for in person courses if selected.

Thanks for the info. My son is just finishing Nuke school and I was looking for degree completion options. He has two years pre-engineering through the U of A in Tucson...

If you don't get picked up then you must suck at interviews, be a liar, otherwise I quit. If you're for real then there is NO WAY you won't be on the list.

Same here. I think it means we're good to go for the board as long as there weren't any comments saying that something was missing. I wouldn't expect there to be any change until after the board dismisses (sometime in mid-late Sept). Then we may see some NETFOCUS adjustments.

Pay close attention to your last edited date in NETFOCUS.

I have the same status on mine. Every day I think about it more and more and how its only been day lol. Taking so long to get to September. Probably take even longer to get to October for results.

No just the initial interview. I already completed my flight physical earlier this year, figured it can't hurt to have everything ready when the results come out. Just waiting and trying to keep myself busy until October.
