definitely conflicting information, several NRD's would let applicants see whatever, several would not, several OIC interviews would only give the interview forms to processor or the OR. The way it was taught at the school house for many years (not sure what is taught now) is that the OR would send the interview/LOR form to the person the applicant identified and it was to be sent back to the OR who sent it and not to be given to the applicant, I would have them give the form to the person with my business card so they could get it back to me.

CEC was the same way.

Have some maturity, self introspection, and ability to accept critical feedback with the understanding that it is being done as a favor to you. Unfortunately, some people without these character traits will still be completely shocked when they are not selected, even after the Region OIC and three senior officers told them they are not a good fit for a program.

I want the Navy to bring in the most qualified people to the program to be my colleagues, and trust me, after seeing who was selected on the most recent board, we are.

Why would someone be shocked after they were told they are not a good fit? Nothing you said above makes any sense

I'm not fit for INTEL remember. I haven't done anything wrong except apply myself to continue my military service
 
Do not get discouraged and keep re-applying.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Regional OIC endorsement/rating weighs heavily into chances for selection. You absolutely must receive the highest endorsement/rating from the Regional OIC.

During my first 183X DCO attempt, I was deemed "highly qualified," was not selected, and was told to submit two additional interviews along with my same package to the next board. I personally sought out two Reserve O5 183X's and got it done. After that board, I was selected.

Fast forward to after my commissioning. While I was attending NIOBIC RES I bumped into the Regional OIC who endorsed/rated me on my second attempt. The person's predecessor endorsed/rated me on my first, unsuccessful attempt. I was told in not so many words that the previous Regional OIC essentially sabotaged my application by giving me, and I quote, "a luke warm" endorsement and rating because the person "preferred Enlisted IS's."

So to confirm. You had your regular interview and sought out 2 additional interviews. And you had a total of 4 people who interviewed you plus the OIC? During my interview they all said I was suited more for IP, so they may right me a good endorsement for IP. The O-5 was a prior Operations Specialist like me and he worked in Contracting. So I am thinking he was an IP and was the one who was spearheading that im more suited for IP. They were also saying they prefer Enlisted IS's as well. And we all know they didn't think I was "Fit" for INTEL. The sad thing is they only select so many IPs. I have NOT gotten my interviews scores back yet. Thank you SIR

You're comparing apples to oranges here. From what I'm taking you're interested in Reserve Intel as well as active duty Army OCS programs (likely Intel). Why not consider or apply for active duty navy intel? Your back ground meets the criteria and assuming you can ace the OAR exam I would consider you a competitive applicant. Army OCS selection percentage are going to be higher because there's hundreds of spots available. As for Navy Reserve Intel, anywhere from 10-30 (depending on the FY).

First off thank you to all the Officers taking the time to give feedback, I'd be in the dark if it wasn't for you! Sir, I am looking at the Army Reserve. My original plan was to go back to active duty as an Officer after I completed my degree; however, I landed a pretty hard to get and high speed job utilizing my tech and Intel background with lots of travel. If I thought I could come back and get the same job after active duty I would, but it's too good of an opportunity to pass up.

I love the Navy and spent most of my almost 9 years deployed on ships or combat zones (I racked up about 7 Sea Service ribbons, 3 overseas, 2 PCS to ships, 1 forward deployed PCS ship, Agency, NATO, Iraq, Afghan, and a DMSM in 8.5 years). My wife is also prior-Navy Crypto Tech and we loved our time in, so it's a tough call. I have mulled over going back in the Navy Reserves as enlisted, but after talking to a few friends who are LDOs and CWO's they told me I'd be selling myself short. I spoke with an Army Reserve Recruiter and spoke with the OIC, they are waiving my age and recommended me for OCS for a AR Officer slot. I am going to talk to my Navy OR and get his feedback from my boards, etc. The process of waiting for nearly a year to find out I am non-competitive in my region without a Masters is sort of frustrating and if the Army sees me as ready to go, which is how I see myself, then I have too be realistic about what's in front of me. I know I have to compete for my job at OCS for the Army Reserve, but I know I can get to where I want to be. I feel I have practical leadership experience having been the senior military lead for sites in Iraq & Afghan where no Officer was in country for our joint team. I will always love the Navy and miss being a Sailor, but I don't wish to sell myself short. I haven't committed to anything yet and I still plan to get feedback from my Navy OR.

Some NRD's have a panel set up so you get interviewed by 3 or more officers at one shot.

Right. I actually liked that the OIC interview was separate. The questions were more personnel and it gave me a chance to sell my one-on-one leadership experience. I made a really good connection with the OIC a laugh or two was had between us
 
For those who were curious. The OIC recommended me for INTEL and IP in that order. Said I was a very strong candidate and that my military leadership and operational experience would integrate me easily into the IWC with my computer science and communications background.

CISSP exam in the can, that's a fun one for sure... Going to probably go for the CEH (ethical hacking) in the next couple of months...not necessarily a particularly desirable certification (at least in comparison to CISSP) but it's part of my coursework for my masters, anyway.
