Simba Barracuda.
Just read a quick article posted on the wall outside of one of my classes today about the advanced sim programs they're using to teach cultural interactions and stuff like that to troops going to places with dramatically different cultural norms. The article mentioned a program the Navy has been using for their training (not sure if it's for the same training or not) called SCOTT (wish i could remember what the acronym stood for).
As i understood it, you interact with "synthers" which are programs that mimic human thought and react accordingly, so that you can basically talk to them like another person.
Anybody deal with this stuff, like is it pretty common, or is it just being tried out in a handful of places and situations?
I think in Terminator, it was called Skynet.
