Particularly since the Army selected a tiltrotor to replace the UH-60, a nagging question in my mind is what is the prospective replacement for the Navy's MH-60R/S? (Yes, I know we've got time to work on this.) You've got a large number of surface combatants that are sized for the H-60. You've got CVNs that are always space-limited for larger aircraft.

Could you develop a rotary wing solution that gives you more? More speed. More lift. More everything. But not more size.

Or do you end up SLEPing MH-60Rs and MH-60Ss forever?

There's a couple of threads about this already, but the Hot Helicopter News thread a good place to start.

If you start here, there's some discussion about FVL and size. There may be more in the pages before.

And this post seems to sum up where each thread discussion ends up.
