FTS Transition and O-4 Promotion Board

I'm fly... I'm pilot.
pilot

I submitted my resignation in February, and it was approved mid-April, just ahead of the TAR board. I also checked "yes" for reserves even though I have no desire to leave some form of active duty. My separation orders, which I'm routing a cancelation request for, were cut in June, after the O4 board.

A friend of mine picked up off of last year's Spring board and did not screen for O4, but he also had separation orders in hand, so that checks.

It sounds like I might have still been looked at by the board. I wouldn't say no to a nice little pay bump but am also content with bonus year in TAR JOPA.

Thanks for the advice y'all!

DPM has really nothing to do with it in this case. It’s all about when resignation was submitted and/or approved.

Concur in this specific case he should be fine. Two weeks isn’t enough time usually to get removed from the board.

But I can assure you having an approved resignation a month or more before the board convenes will probably result in a non-select. I learned the hard way and it was the only feasible explanation for not getting selected (all EPs, production tour etc).

I didn't say it was the case. Just giving an example of how one can exclude themselves from board consideration.
