Fresh fish and shrimp markets in P'cola

You know you want it. There's nothing like the long rambling pine forrests, interupted by the ocassional pine forest w/ a mobile home in it.

Okay, Sally, just don't let that little Telex headset give you a blister on the top of your head.

Phrog is dead on for transporting seafood. That's how it's done in the restaurants I've worked in, though on a larger scale.

Is The Steam Shack still around? It was a dive looking place, red in color, off Barancass, I think next to a bridge. Great place. Don't remember if they sold fresh for carry out, but they steamed up the freshest sea chow I have ever had. Just the basics, chased by a Killians.
Jerry's Steam Shack? Yep, still there.

Cool, thanks for the update. It has been there since way before I came through Pcola in the '79. I liked it alot. I wonder if it looks its age.

Fezz, if you're going to be spending the bucks on "fresh" seafood, then you may not want to freeze it. You could just get the stuff in Texas that way. Just drain the seafood and put it into ziploc bags. Then throw it into a cooler with ice on the bottom, and puts plastic bags of ice on top. The stuff will stay fresh for 2-3 days. You'll have to change the ice out if the drive is too long, but the stuff will be the "freshest". Stick with Patti's, they are the best.
