Type "French Military Victories" in Google and click "I'm feeling lucky."

Pops up every so often in one form or another. The last I saw gave the "404 Error - Page Not Found" deal.

It's a site hosted by Albino black sheep, If you click on the link at the top "did you mean french military defeats then it takes you through a very humorous run down of their military history

go ahead, try it, I know you want to.

I saw the ABS thing. What's their relationship with Google? The "I'm feeling lucky" redirects to their site.

"I'm feeling lucky" just sends you to the top link of the search results. ABS has no relationship with google, they are just the highest ranked search result for the query.

I don't think they have a relationship with google. the I'm Feeling lucky button takes you to the numberone listing on google's search. Not sure how google determines the listing order though. May have something to do with relavance and popularity.

This has led to google bombs which is essentially linking to a site connected to a particular phrase enough times to have it be the top referral (and thus page shown on "I'm Feeling Lucky.")

There's a couple other ones... (though according to wikipedia, these two here have been changed as a result of a change in Google's policy...)

Some of the most famous Google bombs are also expressions of political opinion (e.g. "liar" leading to Tony Blair or "miserable failure" leading to the White House's biography of George W. Bush).

Aah so...said the blind man, as he hammered with a saw...

Makes sense. I had just figured with Google's weird office culture they directed key phrases to amusing destinations. I'd heard of Google Bombs but didn't make the connection.

On a related note, if you type in "search engine" into Google, google.com only comes up 6th. Weird.
