Spot

11.5 years and counting boat free
Had a little down time while in Djibouti, Africa (as indicated by #4 being feathered and the huge oil spot on the ground below it) and though we'd have a little fun with the pilots. Idle minds make mischief.

My buddy did some kind of training excercise there back in 2003 with the 26 MEU. I do recall enjoying that name!

My younger brother spent 9 months at Lemonier in 2003. He said it's a huge piece of $hit. Has it gotten any more cosmopolitan, Spot?

Not a bit. Still live in tents. If you were to stand in front of the plane here, you could throw a rock and hit our tent. The worst part is the French jets that take off either during morning colors (which is played over a loud speaker system all over the base), or within 30 seconds after it. The damn things sound like they are screaming right down the middle of your tent. Other than that, it is a pretty cool place. Kind of like a camping trip.
