"Flying Cheap" new Frontline series

Long time lurker, thought some of you would be interested in this.

PBS FRONTLINE is doing an in-depth look at Regional Airlines, Hopefully some good will come out of putting a spotlight on them.

Preview looks like good insight into the lives/pay/training of these guys and (whether intended or not) portrays management exactly how you'd expect...

Typical regional pilots life. Work long hours and don't get paid enough to do it. Sad to think pilots spend $50,000-$100,000 on flight training and college tuiton only to make just over $20,000 a year. I even know a guy who flew E-3s for 8 or so years and now works for a "Regional Airline". He still doesn't make that much money even though he has all of the flight hours from the Navy.

 

[Feet Wet]

I'm usually a big fan of most Frontline shows. They have whiffed a few times, but overall a great series. This looks very interesting as well....I look forward to seeing this one.
