That is how much a first flight costs anywhere. Its called a discovery flight. Its kinda silly.

I did that this past summer. I ended up getting .6 hours in a Cessna 152. The guy did the complete pre-flight and then let me taxi out and take off and fly around at 2000 feet for 36 minutes. All he did was land the thing.
It was a pretty fun flight, althought a little windy, I would highly recommend it to anyone that is a little shaky about the whole flying thing, or have never flown before. I might try to get another intro at a different airport, I mean, it's only $50 and you get a overview of the basics of flight and the systems.
