First salute

PerDiem

Look what I can do!!
Hi everyone, I just have a quick question about the uniform I should wear for a commissioning ceremony in which I will be my friend's first salute. I am currently an OC in STA-21, so I'm not sure if I should wear my OC uniform or if I need to dig out the cracker jacks. I'm just wondering which one would be more appropriate for the occasion, seeing that it's a salute from an enlisted person and all. Thanks in advance for any input.

Getting a first salute from an enlisted sailor is more appropriate. I have never heard of an OC, mid, or cadet giving a first salute.

I have heard of and seen all three. My personal feeling is that it's better to wear SDBs as that's a reflection of your current status as an officer candidate.
