....I'll just assume everyone flys Hornets for now... unless their name says Helo bubba... then I'll assume they wanted to fly Hornets and didn't get it......
That's a very perceptive observation for a young skull full of cottage cheese .... and from Texas, to boot ... well said. :)

A few years ago I sat next to the new CO of the Vinson...at a bar. I asked him what he flew and he looked at me annoyed and said in a tone like I should know better.....Hornets. We never said another word. Of course he was an O-6 and I was just an O-4 non fighter type. It was nice

Stranger things HAVE happened ... I'm acquainted with a former CO of the Stennis --- he's a former HELO driver !!!

Obla-de-obla-da ...... la-la-la-la-life goes on ....

The new skipper was there for the change of command. The outgoing Skipper was a helo pilot. I only met him once as well but it was to get my ass chewed for an incident during the tsunami relief. Wasn't really an ass chewing as a lecture but not fun regardless.

RADM Christensen was the CO of TR and a helo pilot....but then again....he rear ended the Letye Gulf a week before his COC (and after he already had been promoted to RADM).

More like Leyte rear-ended TR, kinda, sorta. That'll happen when you go crash back with plane guard in close trail. Saw Leyte after the fact in Mayport. Her bow looked like it was made out of tinsel and aluminum foil.

That's what I meant.....TR full back into the Leyte Gulf's bow......guess rear-ended is the wrong term.

Im just doing some math here I have been in for 15 yrs - and dont know half of the places etc that he does...so even if he was in for 30 yrs-- Im just thinking out loud here.
Im a little late getting in on this, but ...

When i read Brett's post, for SOME reason I hear my grandfather... who can be the most emotionless, to the point man I've ever met... I think it is due to his picture and how he conducts himself here...

Either way, I enjoy reading...

I can also picture Brett killing little bunny rabbits... for censored and giggles... I'm not sure why, yet...

what's wrong with texas? lol... I dont think you can go ANYWHERE in the Marines without running into a Texan or two. Hell, my PLC Jrs Platoon was easily 33% or more Texan... lol

Funny you bring that up because I used to have a perfect vantage point from my open kitchen window where I could plink away at the Whidbey rabbits that would frequently loiter in my backyard. Who would have thought that a pellet gun could kill them with just 10 pumps? :D One of the highlights of my rodent control activities was watching a crow swoop down not 30 seconds after the bunny had fallen, where it proceeded to peck the rabbit's eye out. I guess it tastes better than fur.

Whidbey??? I thought you were in SoCal.

Thank God! I can now tell my daughter it's safe to venture out again......with her rabbits, that is. She always has and can still take care of herself. :)

Wait a minute..... did you say "do" have, or "used to have?
