Ferry from P'cola to New Orleans?

Ferry from across the bay to New Orleans?

Can't seem to find if there is one or not, seems like a good spot for one, or somewhere in the surrounding area (anywhere across the bay really, so you don't have to drive around), so just wondering if one existed.

Having personally come from a place with lots of ferries (snicker, snicker), unless you're going to an island, the ferry is mostly going to be slower. Between waiting to get on, going 10 kts, and having to pay, it's faster to drive 60 miles than float 10.

Seriously, even with a ferry as fast as the ones used in Boston, for example, (approx. 35 kts) you'd still be in for a 2.5 hour ride.

wasn't necessarily asking for one from p'cola to N.O., but rather one just across the bay, (I'm up in Boston so I'm used to a bunch that cut across the bays), but point taken if there isn't one, thanks

So true. I've got that whole route memorized now, I'm getting ready to head east again in a week on my way to Helo-land. Can't wait, epsecially for that damn bridge east of Lafayette.
