FEB AMDO, IW & SWO rolling boards

jetullis6

Been there done that
I spoke with the PM a month or two ago -- he said 10 slots and at that time the application numbers were the lowest he'd seen in a long time.
Have you heard any updates as to how many packages they got this year?

Are the boards for AMDO rolling boards? I was scheduled to take the ASTB Jan 10th but was told two days before this date by those administering the test, that it had to be rescheduled to Jan 22nd, 7 days after the deadline for my package due date. My recruiter went through his chain to see if my package could be submitted late(I passed the ASTB btw) but no joy. As a result, I have to miss the Feb board for AMDO because of a last minute change that supposedly came "directly from Pensacola." In any event, my recruiter said that the next AMDO board isn't until August. Does anyone have any idea if August is a firm date or if the possibility of a board prior to August exists? Much appreciated.

What DIVO said, and in general they have been cancelling the August board and only doing once per year.

My package went in for SWO Jan 3rd, I was told I'd here back before the end of the month... It was mentioned to me that FY 14 may be full, anyone heard of this? Does anyone know when I should actually expect to hear back?
My stats:

24 yoa Female
BS in Biology, GPA: 3.56
OAR: 56

Understood and I can tell.
Thanks for the shout out NavyOffRec, Coolace27 if AMDO is really what you want, use this next year to build a strong package! I had the same thing happen to me last year and missed the board by 2 weeks; however I networked and found ways to make sure my package was as strong as I could make it. If you have any questions we are all here to help each other out!

Appreciate it NavyOffRec and jetullis6. AMDO is what I really want to do and as far as building a strong package, I believe I have to make up for the fact that I do not have a vast amount of experience in aviation, nor any interviews with 1520s and a mediocre GPA-2.6.

USMCR for 6 years
BA History
Aviation Ops Specialist(but did unit training for 4 years)
Awards: 2 meritorious masts
2 FitReps, both outstanding and recommended me for OCS(USN/USMC)
OAR 48
LOR's 1 (College professor), 1(USMC Capt), 3(LtCols)

I am not trying to pursue a commission through the USMC simply because I want to be in the Navy.

I hate to burst your bubble but your GPA isn't mediocre in regards to officer candidates, it is very low, you are JUST above the application minimum for AMDO and a little bit further above the application minimum for SWO.

If you are applying for AMDO they changed the PA in August, it is in my above post, if you have not read it then it would be smart to do so as it looks like they have changed a few things.

Take it for what it's worth because I'm a civilian only hearing what my recruiter tells me, but I'm told that not only is FY14 full, but they've scaled back the quota for FY14 SWO's, pushing many that were already selected back to FY15. So if that's true, then if you're selected it will likely be for FY15, however that shouldn't make much of a difference to you as I'm told OCS classes for FY15 will start in the Summer. So don't worry about that. The selection rate for the past two SWO boards though has been very low, relatively speaking (~17% for the July board, 10% in December). That said, it looks like you've got a strong GPA and OAR, so I imagine your application will be competitive. I don't know how rolling boards work at all, so maybe someone else can help you out there.
