Sadly just the tip of the iceberg...

This joker admitted to all of it on AC360 a few months ago, I was watching it. Glad the FBI finally grabbed him.

Why there are so many of them out there is beyond me though...it makes no sense!

Shoot, man, it's that dang ol' internet

I'm not sure about this. This guy's legit.

When I was in SEAL Team 6 with CDR Marcinko and got captured by the Iraqis by giving myself up to save my men, then shot my way out and saved an orphanage of kids from the Taliban (had to kill 10 Taliban with my bare hands after running out of ammo), this guy was with me the whole time! I mean, we both got the Medal of Honor together. It was awesome!

Wait...maybe it wasn't him that was with me. Yeah, this guy's a fraud.

Chuck & Mary Schantag of the POW Network have an excellent article in this month's "River Rats" Mig Sweep magazine. (Sorry, can't link) Excerpts:

"We have literally seen thousands of frauds, phony veteran, and wannabes attempting to change the history of Vietnam (and other) wars and conflicts." 2009 will actually surpass every statistic reported to authorities..."

"The DD214 is now the most falsified military document there is."

"[The FBI] acknowledges receiving fifty cases a week for investigation of Stolen Valor. They are overworked and understaffed... they prosecuted fewer than 50 cases last year."

"In the past two years, nearly $5 million in VA fraud based upon bogus DD-214s has been uncovered..."

A visit to their volunteer website (and click Phonies and Wannabes) gives details on what a massive problem Stolen Valor is, and the great work they are doing to combat it. You can even view the Skeeterman saga on their site. And remember to say thanks for their work, and a couple of tax-deductible bucks for their great efforts. Also, any leads on phonies.

Whoa, I'm listed in a lawsuit! Sweet, I feel like that's a compliment from such a guy . . .

Makes you wonder how many guys out there did this before the internets and the Stolen Valor Act. I would be almost all of them probably got away with it too. :(

I think Skeeterman crawled back into his hole, along with that nutcase website he belongs too. What a loser, just like this loser and all losers who do the same.

And a "$1.75 million" one at that. :sleep_125

Since it has been awhile, and I have never seen a process server banging on my door, I had to check to see for sure if I was included in the alleged lawsuit.

I not only see I was included in his "threatened" lawsuit, but that I am also in some very good company. :)

[PS - I also sent my annual contribution to the POW Network today, as I recommend others do... even if its only a couple of bucks. I've lost more than that in worthless foreign change before going up the brow and leaving a foreign liberty port. ;) ]
