Long story short ... yes.

Interesting that you mentioned this.

I wasn't going to say anything because I don't have any direct personal experience, but since your story mirrors my anecdotal evidence, I will add my 1 cent worth.

I know several people in school who did the exercises because they wanted to fly. They all felt that it worked and as far as I know ended up with successful eye exams.

I have 20/20 according to MEPS. I just want to be more ready for the flight physical if there's anything I can improve upon. I wasn't about to spend $100 on the eye package, but I would spend $100 for a way to bypass the crap I'm going to get for childhood asthma.

Don't mention the A- word to the military. Especially if, in your case, it happened as a child (more than 5 years ago). If its too late then its too late... you'll probably have to get a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).

As far as eye exercises, I know that you can do eye-strengthening by merely holding out your arm, focusing on your forefinger (not foreskin MB!), then focusing on something 10 ft. away. Rest.... and repeat. However results will probably be limited. If you're 20/20 don't worry about it, you'll be fine.

I also did the magic eye/avoid wearing glasses/avoid using computer for extended period of time without breaks, and noticed a pretty big difference.

Then again, my vision ain't the greatest, but I have the magic stamp on my FCI saying "Waiver Approved"
