EXACT visual requirements?

I'm confused now. Back in 1994 or so when I first got the urge, the requirement was 20/20. Around 2000 or so, I found out the AF exact requirement is 20/50, in fact, conversed online w/a F-15E pilot w/20/50. Then now NAMI says Type I requires 20/100 correctable to 20/20. Then the journal here says it's 20/30 correctable to 20/20. What is it? Now I'm just completely confused.

For Navy and Marines it's 20/40 for the initial.

Once you start flight training your vision can get worse, which is probably where you got the 20/100 from. Don't confuse that with initial. You're eyes can't be that bad when you start.

The AF I believe is 20/70.
