Enlisted Navy: What Are my Chances?

Wow...This is a Forum. Not a professional document, eval or corespondence. When writing I don't really care about grammer on here. Trust me. I write over 64 evals a year and many other items that deal with writing. I know it's important with the job, trust me. I've been in the navy awhile and in a leadership postion.

We all know this place is to pass messages and not worry about grammer. WOW...

"Grammar"

That's true, however, you asked us to look at your info and give you our advice (mind you it's only advice and nothing more) and it is based on what we know of you...that being 1) your posted info and 2) your writing skills that we see. So we know nothing else to comment on.

You have a good package and a great chance at reaching your goal.

Just glancing at your stats I would peg you as a good candidate for Crypto (1645.) I was a prior CTI2 (now I'm a 15 month ENS) and your numbers are more impressive than mine were and I got picked up.
Just nail your interviews and put a lot of thought into your personal statements, that's all the advice I can give you.
But just based on your professional and educational background, I bet that the Cyrpto (soon to be Information Warfare) detailers will be looking very keenly at you.

Well my package was sent in a week ago and I had great interviews all 10’s

1 Supply Captain – All 10’s (Great write up) I liked this part especially “In my 25 years I have served with many officers. Few presented the positive motivation and maturity that would enable him to make the hard decisions necessary that Petty Officer Jensen displayed during the interview. In my opinion, his positive potential is unlimited.”

1 Intel Captain – All 10’s (Great write up)
2 SWO CDR’s – All 10’s (Great write ups)

The CO had a great recommendation that said in her 25 years she’s never seen a Sailor of my caliber. I know it’s not true, but nice to see on paper.

The only thing I see hurting me for crypto is that I have little math background. If they overlook that then I hope I get it.


SWO didn’t even look at my package. Jeff Ramsey, the application processor said that the community manager didn’t even send it to boards because OCS doesn’t have any billets left for SWO in ref to FY05 and 06. Oh well. I just hope I get either crypto or Supply.

I found out from the community managers that Crypto will be meeting middle of June and that Supply should be meeting between now and next Friday.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Well in my expert opinion, I would have to say your chances are 92.4763 % :D

No really - I actually don't have anything to add, but I think your stats look really good, and I wish you all the best of luck!
 
Thats funny. I hope your right about that percentage.

I'm just so worried about all this. I would say I should get supply, but I put that as my third choice and I hope they dont hold that against me.

Cyrpto just doesn't look at math skills. They also really appreciate Info Tech backgrounds and language skills.

"Cryptology" is an inaccurate description of a 161X, because it seems to exclusively brings code-breaking to mind. Information Warfare officer is a much more accurate assessement.

But good luck. I would say that your chances are excellent. Keep us informed.
 
I hope your right. I just would like to know about one of them at least. It would make things easier for me. I know supply should meet soon and crypto meets sometime in the first few weeks of june.
