Took the ASTB this morning. Walked away feeling like I smoked it....:icon_hat:
We'll see if my scores reflect my confidence in two weeks, it sure did seem easy, but I've been studying for a long time.

Two weeks?
I thought it was always administered on the computer and you got your results instantly.
Sucks for waiting, good luck though.

If you take the paper and pencil version it takes about two weeks. Your test has to be sent to Pensacola to be graded. Thats the way I did it.

Mine took 3. If I had to do it all over again. I'd do the computer test. Though it did give me a good reason to keep drinking.

Badger (circa: April 2007) comes home from work and listens to voice mail...
Voicemail: You have no new messages....
Badger: CRAIG, NILS(Roommates) WE LEAVE FOR THE BAR IN 5!!!
Repeat for 3 weeks...

Happy Waiting!!!!:D:D:D

I took it in Jax a few weeks ago. Is that damn clock working now? It was stuck when I took it and I couldn't manage my time very well. Oh well, I did pretty good anyways.

Done!!! ??????

Hardly, it's just the beginning...Grasshopper.

Done? By no means did I mean it in that sense oh wise sensei master....:D
For comparison's sake, went to MEPS to take the AFOQT this morning. Got treated at first like a new recruit, had to explain that I was active duty and they needed to get bent, then some crusty old dude who didn't want to sit there for three hours and adminster the thing tried to block me from taking the test, citing some reg. Commanders got involved, etc. had to have a letter faxed from my boss to the MEPS boss, who signed off on it so I could finally take my test. Got there at 6 to start my test at 9.
However, yesterday I show up to the NRD, say hi how ya doing, five minutes later I'm taking the ASTB.
BTW, the clock works. ;)

Im taking my astb Wednesday. Any good advice you can give would be great. Or if there is anything that I should pay more mind to?

you should have stopped by my desk.. it's on the "other" side in front of the window. The Enlisted Programs Side... Hope ya did well on your test.. The guys in the OPO shop are pretty good at letting ya know as soon as they come in. Yes, my paper vesion took 3 weeks as well, and I work there ;) Just goes to show ya, it's not ALWAYS the recruiters fault.

ASTB Tmrw...

Been studyin for the past couple weeks for the ASTB, taking it tmrw morning...How's the math section and does anyone know if taking the test on the computer is a bitch or not, easy to go back and change answers and what not???

never studied one bit, didn't know about this site or what books to look at. i took it blind, out of school for over 6 years and scored a 7/6/5 58. NO NEED TO WORRY!! You'll do fine..

again as said on many threads about the astb before... the math section is nothing special. i went over the one practice test on this site before hand (and didn't realize I was taking any sections other than the oar) and ended up with 7/7/7/65. again, the biggest thing is to work fast. as so many said before, don't dwell over one question, if you don't know it at first, skip it then come back to it in the end. the computer testing was great for me. i loved how you could mark answers to come back to. and it had the countdown timer staring you in the face as well... :icon_rage
