Hmmm, the 48-hour pre-notice is no longer in effect for screen boards on BOL, guess that backfired last year. Some CO's must not want to be the bad guy telling some guy to go drink himself into oblivion on a Friday.

I think I'll take my own advice...(sound of beer can opening)....ahhhh

It's on the NPC website. Several AW's here were selected...
Lot's of changes this year. Lot's of above-zone OP selects and the Special Mission DH category is all second-look guys.

No doubt I just missed it on the NPC site, but could someone post the link here? I couldn't find the right phylum, genus, species hierarchy on the NPC site.

Lots of good folks who won't get a slot. I think of that as ugly because I come from a time when damn near everybody got a chance.

I think you would have to get a bubba list and do the math yourself (or ask the detailer, I'm sure they already did it). Seems to be 50% or less for HSC (old HC) at least. Didn't look at the others, I was just curious about my former students.

I figured around 33% for operational HSC and 57% for operational HS. Pretty tough...

I ought to amend my previous post to "butt ugly". However, much the same as CMD screen and O-5 results, there is a large amount of self-inflicted to that wound - at least on the HC side.

Still, I have some former studs who went FRS - Boat - "thanks anyways", and I feel badly for them.

EDIT - but it gives the young guys some food for thought when somebody is hard-selling them a tough job.

Thanks. I'm not in the running any more, but I was curious to see if NPC knew that. It seems they did...or I just suck. Could be either or.

I did see some guys I know though. Congrats to those that made it.

Concur with what has been said.
JO's take note.
30-ish percent select for VP NFO's.
That means at 10 years you could find yourself in no man's land, even with a great record...

so what happens then if you want to stay? 0-4's can stay to 20. so do you do alot of carrier tours?

CSG Staff tours, overseas hardfills, Wing tours...in reality, not the end of the world but the idea of not promoting in ten years is a tough pill.
The lateral transfer seems to offer a glimmer of hope for continued career progression. But there are some neat opportunities out there regardless. Again, it's largely your attitude...
I'm at nineteen years and got picked up for SM DH and as bad as this sounds, I've got to think about it...

Hozer - at 19 years take it. You can be the rebel DH that cares more for the JOs & Sailors and flying than for the fitrep. Your retirement is in the bag and you can speak your mind, fly hard and party hard. What a great place to be.
