If I had to guess, I'd say that the term "All Weather" is intended mainly for use by manufacturers, politicians, and others feeling some need to justify or put a spin on something. For example, the F-15E is an "All Weather" strike fighter - but I can, off of the top of my head, think of several weather phenomena that I'd avoid like the plague, even in an F-15E.
Pretty sure it is jus a carry over from the days where there were aircraft that definetly could not operate in all the types of weather. But having never flown in the really bad stuff, I am not going to comment on what I would and would not want to take an F-15E in.
Hey Zab, do they still have the Russian compound on base? My eldest brother went through DLI in 89-90 to learn Russian. Back then they had their own compound where you could get lobster and steak in the mess hall, but you had to ask in Russian. Has that switched to Chinese or Arabic now?
