Actually, the shots of the A-7 airborne were of a J.O. squadronmate who ended up being a CO and eventually CAG. The actual barricade arrestment scene was shot pierside in Norfolk and was done with one of our department heads taxiing into the barricade. And if you watch the scene when they pulled the incapacitated pilot (HA! HA!) out of the cockpit, he was from our sister squadron (VA-82) and had their helmet on, even though he came out of our airplane. Had to include everybody you know.
