Dayton Air Show

So, who's going? I live about half an hour away, and from the website it actually looks like there's going to be a much bigger Navy/Marine presence than Air Force...including some T-34 and T-45 statics. Any members the lucky/unlucky bastards that get to come up?

I'm not that far away either. I'll for sure be going. Last year I got so burnt and had such a tan line I looked like I had a white shirt on when shirtless.

Hopefully I'll see some people there.

I did Dayton last year. Unfortunately I'm on a boat with 2000 of my best friends, so won't make this year. The airshow there really took care of the the crews. We had cars, a good hotel room, food and drink at the show, and a crew event or party every evening for all three nights.

Dayton was pretty cool. the first night, we made the mistake of going downtown, which was dead, dead, DEAD! There's a bar/restaurant district, which has a name I've forgotten, that we went to the second night and was completely hopping.

All in all, I recommend going if you can score the CCX. I know most people think "Dayton? What the hell's in Dayton?" but it was a really good time.

As long as I have an up aircraft, I'll be there. Let's see, two shutdowns and startups to get there...it's possible.

The oregon is an awsome time even after having been there a million times. There is also The Greene now in the Kettering/Beavercreek area with a few decent bars. A bar called Adobe Gilas tends to be slammed on a regular basis there. Bar Louis tends to be more expensive and its harder to grab a drink. I suggest The Pub for getting started, has an awsome selection of alcoholic beverages and good food.
I'm looking forward to the F-18 Demonstration. Should be a good year all in all.

Yeah, well. The Dude abides.
Adobe Gilas and Bar Louie, I believe we have those in C-Bus as well! I will be going to the airshow; I am glad to see there will be a nice Navy/USMC presence.

Go Saturday, certain flybys will only happen on Saturday and acts could leave early. Example the B52 flyby is Saturday only according to the schedule. You have a better chance of seeing more that way.

Since everybody in or around the dayton area is looking at this thread I was wondering is anybody else considering running the Air Force Marathon at Wright Patt on september 18th? Same place as the air show except this time you get to pass out after running around it for 26.2 miles.

If the airshow is at Wright-Patt, then my flight planning has been to the wrong place.
