I tried the ring trick before I was actually engaged and it didn't work.... I think guys saw it as a challenge rather than an answer.

By the way, did you know that you can register for your weddingthere??? I shouldn't talk too much smack though b/c Ban would register at Academy for fishing lures and hunting equipment if he could!!!

I registered at Sears for tools ... and my tools have been used a hell of a lot more than any china dinnerware would have been! :)

My roommate just got engaged and is trying to convince his woman to register at Best Buy and Home Depot.

A buddy of mine got hitched a year or so ago, and they registered at two places: Bed Bath &Beyond (for her) and Home Depot (for him). Worked out nicely.

Just told the wife (we registered at Target and Hecht's for her) that while a bunch of useless junk might sound good, by the time we got around to using it it would all have been broken by the movers during our 8 PCS moves anyway. Why not register for stuff that we need (ie. tools), otherwise I'm just going to go buy them anyway.

Bottom line, you're the MAN ... tell her how it's going to be ... (just kidding ;))

Maybe she needs to get on here and see your post ;)

Haha ... she knows I'm kidding ... I'll show it to her though, just to ease your mind ... bet a dollar she laughs (and talks smack to me)

Edit: She did agree about the china vs. tools ... although she'd like the china she recognized the practicality of tools (and the inevitability of their procurement)

When a couple of friends got married, they registered at Target and Lord & Taylor. The only thing that he registered for himself? Sixty-four rolls of duct tape.

You can never have enough duct tape...

Her shower gifts included a selection from Victoria's Secret's jingle-bell line, so I'll let you be the judge.

All told, though, he has every tool known to man, and their wedding gift from her father was a Lexus, so I'm guessing he couldn't think of a single other thing that he might need.

More guns. Duh. You can never have enough guns. Just like duct tape.

My husband and I had a deal - we could each register for one "fun" thing. I registered for a toy for our cats, he registered for a video game. We received both. :)

He'd probably be doing better if I hadn't made him go to Disney World last weekend... the benefits of being stationed at JAX. But only about a month to go in the RAG and then off to Whidbey!
