it's funny you say that.... my High school's cheerleaders were all at least 10lbs overweight, where as a lot the of girls in JROTC were athletic and better looking...

Most of the JROTC girls I've met aren't that good looking, and even the ones that are are crazy. Plus, I don't much care about a mere ten pounds, considering I weigh 220 myself. Hey, as long as she ain't a beached whale, it's cool.

well, 220 isn't THAT much if you're a tall guy... like me I'm 175, but that's on a 5'8" frame, so I'm built like a wall, lol....

but in my JROTC unit the girls came in pairs much like any other girls; one cute one, and one not-so-cute friend... but I've never gone for a JROTC girl, a lot of them are waaay to serious...
although I did score with one of the cheerleaders...

Well I'm about 5'11", but a lot of the weight is from muscle. Hey, you don't put up a 230-pound power clean and a 425-pound squat and not have some muscle. But yeah, being a lineman and all, I do have a really solid build.
But you're right, the pretty ones always come equipped with an ugly friend. We got a Navy JROTC girl in my CAP unit and she is way too serious and way too weird. Can't stand her. But, I've also met a few girls who could really fill out Air Force Class-A's if you know what I mean. . . .
