Data entry

So I know I talked to a few of you guys already and you said you entered you data already. I was wondering why I was having trouble so I emailed them:

To STA-21:
The data entry link on the STA-21 website does not appear to be working. I thought maybe it needed my PKI certificate of my CAC card but then when I tried it from work I had the same issue.
In Reply:
As stated on the website, it is secured until first week of January 08.

Did I miss something? I don't remember reading that anywhere. Whatever I'm not going to worry about it. Obviously theres still time and I hate bothering those guys when they have their hands full.

What they are refering to is the data entry for the new applications for FY09.

https://wwwnt.cnet.navy.mil/sta_21_student_data1/studentlogon.htm

Go there while logged into your NMCI account with your CAC card. It will ask for your certificate, just click ok and it should take you right to the BOOST login page. There it will ask for your last name and social or something to that effect.

Make sure when you do the data entry have your service record, or what I did was use my electronic training jacket because it asks for PRD's, EAOS, NEC's, TIR, and other questions like that. Also make sure you have your vehicle license plate information readily available if you will be bringing your vehicle to R.I.

You should not have any problems, it takes 5-10 min to fill out the web page! Ciao.

Yeah I tried it from work last friday after I talked to you about it. Same error, I even tried deleting my certs in IE and reloading them off my CAC card. I thought maybe it was broken so I tested logging into like two other sites with it and it worked fine on those. So thats why I ended up emailing them about it.

I was thinking the link might have been wrong or something since it seemed to me like the domain name was a bit strange "wwwnt"

If need be, you can call me at work and I'll just enter the information for you.

I don't think its that imperative yet to have it entered. I kinda feel like if there is an issue and I'm able to resolve it I'd rather find out what the fix is and post it on here so everyone else can benefit from it as well. But if I don't find out what the deal is before we have to leave I'll let ya know ;)

Here's the reply:
I'm sorry, I did not know what you were talking about. You have to use your CAC card and when the certificate screen comes up, select the second name. If you are still experiencing problems, please call Mrs. Fusako Bowling at 850-452-1001 X-1269.

Looks like I'll have to try it again and see if something really is wrong with my card or if it was just a fluke.

They are so fast to reply!

You could always just skip the data entry.. what is the worst they can do? Not allow you to go to BOOST.... You can just re-apply next year :icon_wink

I'm not even going to BOOST. It wasn't for BOOST only was it, I thought it was for everyone?

Well, I managed to get the data entry thing to work. It is the first certificate that comes up, not the second. Which is contrary to most sites and even to their instructions they emailed me that I quoted earlier. Hope this helps.

That was the most useless thing I've done so far. Seemed redundant too.
