The House of Representatives observed a moment of silence Friday morning for the late pop star Michael Jackson. Does anyone else think this is absolutely absurd? I can understand all of these people that have no lives crying and dancing on the streets saying yesterday was the worst day of their lives. But for our government to even recognize this (what will probably turn out to be some type of drug overdose) just blows me away. Think of the great people (humanitarian figures) who have passed that haven't received a fraction of the attention, let alone from our government. The guy was a freak, who happened to be able sing and dance. Lets put this in perspective.

Oh, and for Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson's Twitter page that read:

"Okay, first Mrs. Fawcett now Mr. Jackson, please tell me that this is a mistaken rumor, if not this is just as sad as 9/11"

You're fucking kidding, right? Unfortunately I think there are a lot of people out there that think this is on the same scale.

I wonder if Mr. Jefferson will get the same honors.

Agreed. Sure, he had an amazing talent, but he really creeped me out. I was born a little too late (1982) to really have his music impact me. All I remember is the child molestation charges and him dangling a baby from a balcony. It's strange how his death impacts the perceptions of so many.

On a lighter note. This may be a little soon, and in poor taste, but somebody has to post it:

Michael Jackson died while visiting the pediatric unit - he had a stroke.

When MJ passed, they decided to melt the body down (he was 90% plastic). They made legos from his remains, so the children could play with him for a while.

There's more, but I'll stop.

Plenty of time still in the day to pass sweeping legislation.

This couldn't be better timing for China. So they already called for a new reserve currency, then joined with our other creditors in praising the dollar profusely, and now are calling for a new reserve currency again. Meanwhile, the whole time they were denominating their savings in things other than dollars...

I would strongly urge everyone here to read into this matter, and diversify any savings you might have into a weaker dollar position.

The King of Pop is dead. We don't say "Long live the king" around here. He was an extremely important icon to many, so don't be a jerk to people who are saddened by his passing. In fairness, I wouldn't suspect the Airwarriors audience to include many people in that category :icon_tong

Airborne All the Way!!!
Since he was mostly plastic anyways, I hear they're going to melt him down & turn him into Legos. That way little boys can play with him for a change.
