Hello all and thank you for your service. I am a college graduate (3.0 GPA nothing spectacular) and took my ASTB last year. I made a 52 5/6/6. From what I understand these are the bare minimum scores to be even looked at. I have submitted twice on the last 2 boards for NFO and have not been selected. I am considering retaking the ASTB and aiming for either triple 7’s or at least 6 and 7’s. I worry about doing worse but I think with adequate preparation I could do better. My recruiter on the other hand thinks I should go enlisted Air Crew and put in an officer package after 2 years and a few letters of recc. I strongly dislike that possibility. I would be very grateful for any advice on what I should do.n
 
Take it a third time and do your absolute best. Treat studying like a full time job. You have nothing to lose at this point.

Enlisting, regardless of your rate will have a damn near negligible effect on getting selected as a Pilot/NFO if you don’t a good ASTB scores. I’d suggest you study and retake it
