Hey everyone, so i just found out i cant fly for the Air Force anymore thanks to their new color vision test, came out a few months ago, and have read a lot about the Navy still accepting the Farnsworth Lantern test. After looking around on this site i see that a lot of this info is a little...dated...anyone have anything current reguarding this test??? Thanks everyone.

The new test the AF has is called the PIP 2. Simular to the PIP 1...or the Ishihara test, but designed to weed out more people. Came out somewhere around a year ago. If i recall correctly, they were kicking guys out of the cockpit who were already rated cause they couldnt pass the test. Also, for the color vision rules in the AF, you now have to get 12 out of 14 of the PIP 1 test correct and 9 out of 10 of the PIP 2. Not much room for error anymore. But please, dont quote me on these cause i may be a little off.:icon_tong
I wouldn't think the AF would kick guys out already in the cockpit as the money spent to train them wouldn't justify that monetarily. That's just my thinking on it. It's good the Navy has the FALANT or whatever version they have know. It helps us, including me, who can't pass those Ishihara dot tests.
