No Reported Injuries When Two Planes Hit One Another on the Ground
The Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) - Federal investigators were inspecting two passenger jets that bumped wings, causing minor damage to both while taxiing at La Guardia Airport.
No one was injured in the accident Monday night, Port Authority spokesman Steve Coleman said.

An American Trans Air Boeing 727 with 44 passengers heading to Chicago brushed wingtips on a taxiway with a smaller regional Delta ComAir jet that had just arrived from Cincinnati with 36 passengers, Coleman said.

The accident did not interfere with flight operations, he said. The Chicago-bound passengers were put aboard other flights.

The Federal Aviation Administration's flight standards division was investigating.

...and then they made the guy pay full fare.

FedEx employees have deals on some air carriers, and one of them was a passenger on Alaska Airlines.

As per the regulations on carrying guns on planes, the FedEx employee had checked and declared his handgun; but airline employees noticed, in a routine check, that he had loose ammunition in the gun case, which is prohibited.

They called the passenger to the ticket counter, and asked him to remedy that situation.

As he started to gather things up, he accidentally fired the gun in the crowded terminal.

The bullet went through a computer monitor, rendering it useless, and fragments of the bullet continued through the empty office of a supervisor, lodging in a far wall.

Police quickly arrived, and the man stands to be charged with criminal negligence [a good call --ed].

The man was allowed to board Flight 188 from Anchorage to Seattle, but without his beloved .357.

He was also forced to pay full fare for the flight.

By the way, reports say Alaska is taking another look at its arrangement with FedEx.
