Its unlikely that the 53K will ever be self-aware like the F-35, but it's nice to see it moving along in the testing process.

 
I was wondering that, too. I usually only see something like that after a waterwash.
 
Preservation fluid/oil.
Only at first (initial) start-up as Fuel control unit, Fuel flow x-mitters and everything downstream the fuelpump & system is preserved with preservation fluid instead of fuel. Most Engines are preserved for 365 days ex-factory.

You pay by the motor and per yard of carbon fiber.

Not to mention the material and mechanical work that Sikorsky put in to the gearbox to transfer three times the horsepower in a box the same size.
