I'm debating on wether to drive or fly to Pensacola. How important is it to have a car when you're there (at OCS)? What is within walking distance of the base?

Wheater or not you want to have a car there is up to you. It is a nice thing to have, mainly because there is nothin really in walking distance of the base. The base itself is huge. it is miles from where OCS is and the main gate. So if i were you i would take the car but that is just me.

My recruiter suggested that I take my car as I will want to get away from base on the weekends but it is a long drive from phoenix, az to pensacola fl. Also who know just how much it would be worth it until after graduation and starting API and then primary. Who knows....
