Probably won't be a "judge" ... this ain't TV .... no ratings to work for .... but go for it.

QUESTION: Is the time/hassle worth $6 bills??? .... that's the question. If so, do it. If not, do something nasty when you move .... (j/k for all you uptight NAZI's) :)

And next time .... ??? Don't be stupid or naive.

For $600, yea. I think its worth it. But definitely not the time. I have learned my lesson big time. The next time someone hits me, Ill be sure to bash their windshield in with a crowbar, immediately followed by a double-double from In-n-out.

j/k? F that...I'd at least cut the stems off of his tires and leave a bag of flaming dog guano on his welcome mat. Gotta love reverting back to junior high tactics. ;)

I took someone to small claims last December and it was quite the process. It took until May to collect any money, and that was after I had the guy's wages garnished (step 89/101). Like said before, you will learn A LOT about the legal system, but you will spend tons of time doing so. However, I would do it again just out of principle.

I would not resort to getting even (even though it would feel so good)...he'll know who it is...and is it worth getting arrested and losing your naval career?...no. Plus what's to stop a small fued from starting where he messes up your stuff as well....

Got to weight the options.

Try small claims and learn.

The only questions I have for you is how is that in 6 months you haven't seen the guy? He's your neighbor, right? What? He never walks to the mailbox, waters a plant, or cuts the grass? Is he a hermit now? He obviously wasn't then. Doesn't he go to work or come home? I see my neighbors all the time. How is it that you feel that you can only contact him by phone? A 'friendly neighborly' knock on the door out of the question? You make it sound like he lives in another state not across the street.

That said, live and learn. Next time report it to insurance instead of doing the "neighborly thing" and screwing yourself over in the process.

He was the owner of the house, but I should have clarified that he doesnt live there. He rents it out. With that being said, I havent seen him in months bc he has no reason to go to the house. He gets his cut from the mortgage and he's a happy guy. I should have gotten his personal info instead of just his cell # and I admit that was stupid on my part. Again, I have learned my lesson from this experience. Everyone makes mistakes.
